In an effort to compare two ~6" color display chartplotters, the Raymarine 435i and the Navman 5600, our decision has distilled down to daylight visibility and antenna type variables. The Raymarine is boasting great daylight visibility, however, since a dated review in Practical Sailor, Navman has claimed an revised display with much improved dyylight performance. The 435i offers an internal (built-in) antenna, which would enable reasonably quick removal from the helm for storage. The Navman requires an external antenna (included).I have not found a dealer with both models in stock to allow a side-by-side comparison. Any input, remarks or criticism regarding these two products would be appreciated.
