Raymarine Linear Drive install

Hello - I am happy 2nd year owner of Cat 309 (owned Cat 30 for 2 yrs before) and want to install Linear drive but it’s quickly becoming hell of a project, beginning with creation of sturdy base for it that will withstand loads.

anyone has done it on Cat 309 or is aware of online resource about it? I searched long and wide and found nothing.

Has anyone installed the Raymarine Linear Drive Type 1 in a H34? or similar boat?

I'm about to replace my old Raymarine wheel drive with the Linear Drive. Apparently the new autopilot wheel motors have less power and can't handle my H34. I plan on putting a 12x24x1 inch piece of King Starboard in the lazarette bottom in order to provide a solid base for the mounting block...

Thank you Tally, I found that post already and asked some specific questions there. I am actually in contact w Raymarine support using pics from other post but still am stuck trying to figure out how to get similar base done on my boat. I tried (and failed) w wood base / block and quickly realized it would never hold the load.

I haven’t done one on my O’Day 322, but when installed a rudder sensor and was crawling around the quadrant, I identified a few places that I THINK I could mount a support, but it will have to be glassed into place for sure.
