I am presently upgrading my Raymarine 435 chartplotter to a Raymarine C80 plotter along with a Raystar 125 GPS Antenna.

My present setup on my '06 Ben 343, with a 435 chartplotter, has a DC power line from the "auto pilot" panel breaker to the autopilot. The ST60 wind, speed/depth instruments are powered and integrated with the autopilot circuits via "sea talk" cables. The chartplotter has a DC power line from the "insturments" panel breaker to the chartplotter. The GPS antenna screws into the back of the plotter. The chartplotter does not appear to be interfaced with the other instrumentation, except the GPS antenna.

I know that later models of the Ben 343 had Raymarine C80 plotters installed. I dedcided on the C80 plotter because it is one of few that will fit my helm flush mounted. I would like to know specifically how the GPS antenna connects to the plotter. I would prefer to connect the antenna using a "sea talk' cable to the sea talk input on the back of the plotter. I would prefer to reserve the NMEA 0183 input/output connection on the back of the plotter to connect to the DSC capabilities of my ICOM vhf radio.
Can the other ST60 instruments and auto pilot be interfaced with the chartplotter or is it best to allow them to "stand alone" as with my present 435 plotter? If it is beneficial to integrate the entire system, how is this accomplished? The raystar 125 antenna kit included a "sea talk" converter bus. In any case, I would like to wire the system as was wired at the Beneteau factory. Any help, suggestions would be appreciated as the Raymarine installation instructions are confusing. Much Thanks.

There is a junction box available that would allow additional seatalk connections. I know that there is one for original Seatalk 1,and also one that that will interface the original Seatalk 1 to the Seatalk ng backbone. I would think that completing the interconnection should be fairly straightforward.
