Last week my MFD, a Raymarine C120W began indicating the wrong heading for the boat. The MFD showed the boats heading (red vector line) about 120 degrees incorrect from the boats actual heading (green vector line). I suspect the fluxgate compass and following Raymarines instruction I checked the resistance of all wires and everything checked out as normal. I have not yet had time to remove the fluxgate compass and rotate it to see if the MFD follows correctly the rotation. I tried to adjust the compass on the the "Compass Setup" screen, but the screen is not allowing me to do anything.
Any advice? I have been unable to get any further help from Raymarine.

I have had similar problems when I placed a tool bag about 2 ft from the fluxgate compass. Use a small hand held compass, go near and around the fluxgate compass and see if there are changes in the small compass. I would also do the fluxgate calibration (going in circles 3 times). I ended up moving mine to the cross beam located just below the v berth dooron the aft side.

It was mounted by the sump pump facing forward, starboard . Now its facing aft on the port side.
