This story left me stunned...guy with no experience sailing decides to build a 118' schooner? Gets towed in twice by Coast Guard third time sank in a 25 knot blow? I watched the documentary, hypnotized by a man risking it all. I'm thinking possibly...Mid-life crisis, noble goal, incredible guts, delayed onset adulthood, foolish pursuit, balls of steel? Whats your take?

Misguided. His intentions were noble, his planning and preparation were lacking. If you intended to take someone in a wheel chair on the water you should contact the organizations that know how to do it safely and correctly. The seaworthiness of Raw Faith was in doubt from the day the keel was laid and put others in danger. This man should not of been near a boat, be thankful he didn't attempt to build a airplane.

I read up on it - wow.

So I ask the admiral; "Honey, do you really really love me?" "Yes dear, really really, for better or worse forever and ever."

"How about if I sold everything we have I quit my job to build an ark?"

The silence is still deafening....

Sort of?

I suppose the 16th century galleon look was the goal? I stress over my teak toe rails, that spruce goose must've cost a fortune in wood, roofing tar, and duct tape?
