Ratlins

Has anyone ever installed ratlines on their Catalina 22’? I see other boats the same length and greater with wood or steel ratlines at the marina. Could ratlines be installed on a Catalina? Are the cables too small? Do they serve a practical purpose? It would be a nice accessory for getting a better view or doing a bulb repair.

C-22 shrouds are only 1/8 inch

I really think the relatively small diameter of C-22 shrouds at 1/8 inch precludes the use of ratlines.While the shrouds may not break with your weight upon them, I think they would become "kinked" and bent especially at the points where the ratlines attached to the shrouds.Nevertheless, I think you should examine these ratlines more closely and learn the diameter of the shrouds they are used on and then find out how well they support a person's weight.
