Win? HAH!!
We finished! 5th out of 5 in our class.I think, though, that we could have done MUCH better with what we know now.First, take off about 1500 lbs. (250 ft of chain in the bilge, abchgors we never use, extra 30 lb propane tank, we didn't need 80 gallons of diesel, and didn't need 80 gallons of water - didn't need a lot of other stuff)Second, get a new jib. For the higher winds we'd put on the original high cut yankee. Power was WAY up in the sky, causing much more heeling than necessary.3ed - well, don't break the forestay. That little trick cost us about 8 hours. 2 hours turning an running down wind while doing repairs, probably 6 hours to beat back to windward.
