I think, I don't know if this is a Raritan I didn't see a model

It works okay Joker valve must be okay too because it hasn't backed up.

I did the salad oil thing, doesn't really help it's hard to pump, I don't know if a rebuild kit will improve that.

Yes, it is a Raritan. I suggest you get a manual downloaded from their website, then figure out what parts of the rebuild "kit" you need and don't need and just order what you do need. I was able to buy only the parts I needed from right here on sbo for my PHII. The "kit" has material that even their "rebuild" instructions don't say are needed. Learn more about the guts before you disassemble. Good luck, it's a fine unit.

these photos can help you determine which kit you need…current, or pre-1992. The difference is in the seal for the pump shaft. I don’t see the seal cartridge in your photo, so I am guessing pre-1992.

The rebuild is pretty simple. There are some good videos on YouTube…I particularly like the one where the guy rebuilt it on the dining room table (his wife wasn’t home apparently)...

For now, you could remove the pump off the base and squirt some Superlube up into the pump, then work the piston up and down a bit to try and distribute it around (put the pump back on the base first ;-). That may buy you a little time until you get a kit and the nerve to tackle it

The toilet is a Raritan PHII. You can download the owners manual from here Raritan SuperFlush Owners Manual (The SuperFlush is just the current version of the PHII...only the base has been redesigned...it still uses the same PHII Pump as the original PHII. A rebuild kit will cost you about $70. If you your toilet was built before 6/92, you'll need kit PHIIRK. If it was built after 6/92, you'll need kit PHIIRKC...and it's important to get the right kit because there are a few parts including the seal cartridge that are NOT interchangeable.

Looking at your photo, I strongly recommend you replace ALL your hoses if they're anywhere near as old as the intake line, and this time use sanitation hose (Shields or Trident flex PVC #148 is ok for intake line and holding tank vent line, but not for toilet discharge line or pumpout line unless you want stinking hoses in a couple of years).

10 years is the average working life of ANY hose because rubber and plastics dry out over time, becoming hard, brittle and prone to cracking and splitting. In fact, old hoses connected to below-waterline thru-hulls is the most common cause of boats sinking in their slips. So if yours are even close to 10 years old--and it sounds like they're a LOT older than that--they definitely should be replaced. Not just your sanitation hoses--ALL of them as your budget allows.

You're welcome to give me a shout via PM if you have questions for me that require a bit more discussion than is practical in a forum.
