Raritan PHII vs PHC

Our boatyard called today to say that the reason our 20+-year-old Wilcox Crittenden Imperial isn't working properly is because it needs a part that's no longer available. I've been reading all the wonderful and useful information in the "New head recommendation" thread and have decided we should replace it with a Raritan, either PHII or PHC. We'd like to order something and get boat yard to install it so the boat will be ready when we return to go cruising. Problem is, our boat is currently about 150 miles away, so we can't go aboard to measure the space available. Do you know how the PHII and PHC compare in size to the old Imperial? Chances are the larger unit would fit, but it also costs more, so are there any drawbacks to choosing the PHC based solely on price?

did you have a full size or compact bowl on your imperial? If you had a full'size bowl, you'll want the PHII, rather than the PHC. Also, IIRC, SBO sells the base and pump for either as a part, and you may be able to re-use your existing bowl, saving a fair bit of money in the process.

Go with the full size PH II.

It'll fit and you'll be happy with it.
Raritan has recently begun offering both the PH II and the PHC as "conversions" that allow you to recycle your existing bowl, seat and lid. The part # for the PH II is PHIILBA. It cuts the price nearly in half.

The PHC can only use the small "standard" bowl, so you wouldn't be able to use the PHC conversion, 'cuz only the larger bowl was offered for the W-C Imperial. So unless you want spend the money for the complete toilet, the PH II is your only choice.
