Got It, Like it
I installed Raritan PH II "High Boy" in my 1983 Hunter 33 a few years ago. This is the full size bowl version, same size as a domestic toilet. Much more comfortable than the normal , undersized marine offering. If I had mounted it directly to the "floor" in the head the flush lever would have been through the engine box wall. It is possible that the "floor" in the head differs between the early and later 33, that is the sloped deck vs. the boxed deck. The entire deck and cockpit are similar but slightly different so it's possible the pan molding for the head is different also. I made up a spacer from thick (about 1 1/4") high density poly ethylene which can not rot, that was cut at multiple angles which allowed the toilet to sit centered between the engine wall and the vanity. (One of the things I like about my 33 is that you can sit on the toilet while under way in a seaway without being pitched off and thrown out into the saloon with your pants at your ankles. But what would I know about that?)I can't remember clearly exactly how I mounted the spacer plate, but it seems to me I cut a hole in the deck about 4" diameter, made up threaded plates which I glued to the underside of the deck to act as captive nuts, then bolted the plate down with a good gob of silicone forming a gasket to seal up the hole and bolt holes. The base of the head was then lag bolted down to the spacer plate. In approximately three to four years it hasn't moved.I also had a holding tank made up that is fitted into the dead space inder the sail locker floor which puts it directlu behind the head and almost on the same level. The hose is barely a foot and a half long.If it would help I can shoot some pictures for you to post. Let me know.
