Need to replace the Sealand head. Will the Raritan PHII fit without modifying the step?

It should...the base is side to side and

"standard" bowls are the same size. Measure it...you'll find the measurements on the Raritan website (link below). Excellent choice btw.

I did measure and it will be close

Peggy, Thanks for the response. I did measure. It will be close. The Raritan is 17" front to back. The platform is about 12-13" It's unclear from the website how much overhang there is from the front bolt to the front of the bowl.

Are you measuring the bowl or the base?

The bowl dimensions are irrelevant..the only thing that matters is the distance from the center of the bowl to the bulkhead. The base is under the center of the bowl...if there's enough room between it and the back of the "standard" bowl, the toilet will fit.

Neither

The website only shows the depth of the entire unit. I can interpolate somewhat from the diagram; that is how I concluded it would be very close to fitting, or not.

The hole in the bowl is in the middle of the bowl

Therefore, it SHOULD stand to reason that half the front to back distance should be forward of the center of the hole, and half the distance should be behind the center of the hole. If that's too much for you, call Raritan: 800-352-5630 x 2. Ask for Vic. I have a whip to oil and spurs to sharpen...

The hole in the bowl

The hole in the bowl is in the middle of the bowl? The hole may be in the middle of the bowl however in-order for the seat to center on the hole in the bowl the stearn of the bowl should protrude futher than the bow in order for the seat and lid to attach to the bowl. Therfore the hole in the bowl would only be relevent to the futherist distance protruding aft, Hum "smile"? Call the MFG & Watch out for those whip's & spurs, one could get slasheded! Jim

Yes, It Will Fit

I installed one in my H31 last spring. It fits fine.

Yep...but--

Cleverly worded, but you're missing the point. Regardless of mfr, all "standard" size toilet bowls are the same dimensions and all "highboy" bowls are the same dimensions. So unless you're measuring to see whether there's room for the larger bowl, if the base of the new toilet is to sit in the same place as the old toilet, measuring either half of the bowl will tell you whether the other half will fit. So once you position the base, if the front half of the new toilet doesn't extend any further foward than existing bowl does, the rear half won't extend any further back. If the base has to sit further back, the back end of the toilet will extend the same amount as the difference between how far the old bowl and the new bowl extend forward.

It will fit with some triming.

Greg: I also installed a new PHII on my H'31. We still have the shower seat installed so I tried to make sure that there was enough room for the handle to clear the seat so you do not break your knuckles every time you pump. Anyway, we needed to trim the board that is just behind the toilet so the portion of the bowl that holds the seat would fit under that board. So to answer your question, it fits on the step without modification to the step but required some other adjustments.

PH II pump can be on either side of the bowl

However, you can't just turn the base around...the the yoke has to be reversed or the pump handle will face backward. Raritan will provide instructions for doing that on request. Also important to know that the standard discharge fitting is straight. If you need a 90, be sure to specify it when you order the toilet. Or, if you buy off the shelf, you can get a 90 just by calling 'em. The 90 can be rotated to aim any direction you need for it to go.
