Well, having discussed the selection of electric toilets for the then new to me vessel I decided on the Raritan Marine Elegance and I can't be happier.
After a year of continuous use as a liveaboard running on fresh water I have yet to have any trouble with this toilet. The smartflush panel works great, the sea/fresh option works extremely well (although I generally use the sea selection with an intake y valve to add fertilizer for the bugs in the holding tank).
It works well enough that several club members have installed or are in the process of installing the same unit! One friend complained that his wife showing it off was using up the fresh water but that normal use it is not significant.
I did install the bubbler system in the new holdining tank and have a pair of whale gulper pumps to empty the tank.
The holding tank is about 26 gallons and I get about 43 flushes on "saver" and about 22 flushes on "full" before the tank is "comfortably full" leaving room to keep the vent from getting fluid into the line.
I had been a strong advocate of retaining at least one manual head on the boat but after a year I am installing a second identical toilet in the aft head (probably could have gone with just fresh water for this one and saved a few dollars but I wanted the two to be identical copies to make full spares of each other. The aft holding tank is probably 40 - 45 gallons so that should give some additional room.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and thoughts when I was picking out the toilet.
