Ranger 28

Can someone educate me on this boat? I'm getting all types of different draft and ballast numbers as well as mast heights.

I have found one that was built in 1977 hull number 166. Could this be one of the boats with the 5' keel and heavier ballast? Is there a way to tell besides going to the boat and measuring?

Replaced the RANGER 29, also by Mull, but an entirely new, more performance oriented, design. (IOR 1/2 ton)
Some later boats (after hull #86) were delivered with a deeper keel.(5.0')

So, yes, it looks as if you'll have to measure.

The Ranger 28 is one of the prettiest sailboats ever made. I'm normally not a big fan of tumblehome, but this one pushed all the right buttons.

It came with a standard or tall rig. You'll have to get on and measure; IIRC, the difference was not all that great and hard to see from the dock, even if you were looking at one of each.
