Ranger 22 Trailer

I spotted a nicely maintained Ranger 22 but it has no trailer. Would appreciate any ideas on where I might search for a trailer for a boat that has a 3 foot fixed keel and weighs around 2500#.

I bought a Lancer 25 with no trailer. Then I bought an EasyLoader power boat trailer and mounted the roller assemblies on steel posts. I works really well. I have a shoal keel and draw 30" so I'm set up a little differently than you, but with a little ingenuity you can do the same.

Being a former Ranger owner I'd be interested in how it goes with the 22. I've sailed on one, which was poorly maintained and didn't do particularly well. It was an interesting boat nevertheless. My impression was crew weight distribution was really important. If you have a site with any pics maybe you could pass it along.

Caught my eye because a Ranger 22 was my first. I had the trailer that came with the boat. Recently I saw something interesting, I saw a flatbed trailer that had been converted to haul a sailboat by mounting a fore post and jacks/bunks to it, with a wooden dealio screwed down as a keel guide. The fellow had done a good job of it, it didn't look too hillbilly at all. He said it was much cheaper than having a custom trailer built, and he had made it so he could take off the jacks and use the trailer to haul stuff if the boat was in the water.

Oddly. I never recieved notice of replys to my inquiry. I never found a R 22 w/trailer and chased down 3 without trailers. I looked into the jack screw modification idea, but it was half as expensive as a new trailer and what would I have - a klugged together trailer. Not something I would comfortably toe a 2500 ilb boat 5 hours with. Still looking
