While raising the mast the hook on the small port halyard under the spreader keeps popping out. The other are fine. Has anyone had this problem?

I am not sure just what you are talking about but I never have anything pop out while raising or lowering my mast. Any pics. ?? maybe I can help Alan

Shroud Problem
There is a hook on each of my shrouds that fits into a plate on the mast. It is how the shrouds are attached to the mast. When I raise the mast one of the lower shrouds keeps popping out. It looks OK , but it makes it difficult to raise the mast when this keeps happening. Sorry no picture. I guess I could jam a piece of wood into the plate on the mast and hope it eventually falls out.

Get a big pair of pliers....
and close the "hook" so it won't come out... period. However, you should have a better attachment than an open hook... that's kind of cheesy. How about changing out the hook deal with a more permanent connector, like a shackle or marine eye/clevis pin. When I trailered a boat I only removed the shrouds from the mast if the boat wasn't going to be used for a long time. I had quick connect pins and adjusters on the chainplate ends. After dropping the mast I coiled up the shrouds and secured them to the mast or cabin top with some extra line.

Yes, I mean the shroud. I inserted some plastic locks into the chain plate to hold the shroud in place on the mast

The lower shrouds which have eye splices are attached to the spreader brackets with clevis pins and cotter pins.
