Although I am a very long way from it, I would be interested in any one or two person mast raising ideas.

Also, shouldn't there be two parts to the mast head? The piece on the deck is in place, but it looks like there should be a piece in the bottom of the mast.

Mast Crane?

If you can get to a mast crane, two can easily do it. The Admiral and I pulled then replaced our mast for the four winters our '77 h27 was at Mentor Lagoons.

You lift the mast with a sling/line under the spreaders, then swing it over the deck fixture, about a foot off the deck. Connect all of the cables, then stuff them up the mast, and slowly lower the foot of the mast unto the fixture. Then attach the four cap shrouds, and the mast is ready to tune. We would loosely attach the four lowers while we motored back to our dock to finish the job.

Good luck - you have a great cruising boat!

Thanks David! I have been watching some very interesting videos on youtube. It will be interesting to say the least when I get to that point. Again, I'm just starting on cleaning, crack repair, sanding, painting, etc., just wanted to get some ideas well in advance in case I need to be creating some innovative parts and pulley systems.
