Loose footed main...
is a main which there is only two attachment points to the boom, at the clew and the tack. Read the attachment for more info. Don't agree with this saving hundreds, in fact, this will cost more than the alternative way of raising boom. Mine is going to Schurr Sails in Pensacola, FL this week...I'll post results.
