Raising mainsail

Don't laugh. This is a dumb question.

I'm trying to learn how to sail my new to me Hunter 18.5. No one has shown me how to fasten the tack on the mainsail to the boom. How do you do it?

My 23.5 has a d shackle that connects to the receiver on the mast where the boom attaches.

Same with the 23. Clew of main bolt rope slides into boom track, and tack has a ring (grommet) that attaches to a fitting on the mast with a shackle. The 18.5 may differ, but look at the fore end of the boom and the mast to see if there's an obvious fitting.
