Hi,
I would like to look at some pics of vegas that have had their booms raised or those that came stock with them higher. Are there pics uploaded on the site? If yours are, can you let me know what photo album to look at?
Thanks,
rb

Hi Jack,No, I replaced it this spring and haven't gotten an updated picture yet.
Are you thinking I have a cabin top mounted traveler? Because I don't.I installed a simple 2:1 Harken with raised T-track, right where the old one is. If you want more details on it, let me know.Roy

Hey Roy,
No, I thought you replaced it at the point above the wood cover at the forward end of the cockpit. I've had some issues figuring out how best to mount the wood piece and the track. Mine seems a little unstable for mounting a traveler.

Any chance you saved the invoice and a parts list? How did you attach the wood piece into its spot? Did you reinforce the underside? Did you move the attach point on the boom forward? What parts did you use for that?

Jack

Jack,Below is the parts list that I believe I used. 90%sure.

Your boat Type: Albin 27 Vega
Quantity Part Number Description
Mainsheet Travelers -- 2:1 Cam On Car
1 2721.1M Smallboat Hi-beam Slide Bolt Track
1 2734 HL Smallboat CB Car w/Fixed Sheaves & Ca
2 073 Stainless Eye Strap
1 264 SB Heavy Duty Hi-Beam End Stops (2)

With the high-beam track (versus lowbeam), you don't need support beneath the track.
With the low-beam, you will need some wood or boat underneath. If you put it across the companionway, you will need to beef up the fiberglass beneath where the two ends of the track land.I just put my traveler right on top of where the old one is. I removed the piece of bracing wood there.Roy
