I was wondering if anyone has tried Rain-X on their dodger windows? The bottle says to use caution with plastics. I am hoping to improve visibility on days when there is water everywhere.
We use Rain X on my father's sport fishing boat--it has a hard-top with clear plastic curtains. First, we clean the plastic with Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner. Once clean, treat with Rain X to let rain and spray bead up and run off.Randy
Orig formula Rainex contains acid and solvent that will shorten the life of plastic windows. There are some water based versions of this type of thing out now (including our CH) that are safe for plastics. Some other glass cleaners have ammonia in them. Also not good for the life of plastics. The Meguirs plastic cleaner itself contains silicones and will bead water.ThanksALW
