I have decided to do a book on the Raider 33, touting it as the 'Holy Grail' of boats for the common racer-cruiser (which in a certain sense it is). The book will feature articles and reviews written by Mate and others as well as plenty of pictures including photos of 'stock' boats and reproductions of drawings depicting the genesis and variants of the design. If you have any photos, preferably large (5 x 7 or better) you're willing to copy and/or donate for the project, they will certainly be credited. They should be either of typical design details (such as the tumblehome, the rear quarters, or the bow) or else full-view pictures, preferably under sail. Any aerial shots or those taken from above or at great distance in open water would be terrific. (Everyone has at-the-dock shots and unfortunately they rarely do the boat justice.) Also any anecdotes of sailing experiences, especially of cruising capability, racing prowess, or storm weathering, will be great. Some of these may compare the boat to other production-class yachts (especially the Hunter 33). Make it as long as you dare (I am a competent editor!) and don't leave out details! I am looking forward to having PLENTY of credited contributors. The book will probably go on the market as print-on-demand through Barnes&Noble.com or places like that. It won't be a mass-market best-seller. But it will have enough of my dad in it to make it worth reading for most yachtsmen who know who he is. If you've got any questions or suggestions, let me know.
