I have a marine radio that I am looking to put in my boat for the summer. The speakers I have are the 5" round speakers. Where is the best place to mount these on the outside?

My opinion, don't mount speakers in the cockpit. The big hole is a pain in the butt to repair after you get tired of replacing speakers because the grills keep getting kicked out, or the sun and weather deteriorate them. :cussing:
But if you must, save the speaker cut-outs, it will make filling the holes easier in a few years.
Interior mounting depends on which version of C-22 you have. On our MK-II, forward above the V-berth gives GREAT sound, and is out of the harms way. And we can enjoy jam'en from the listening in the cockpit.

There is a forum entry here about speakers that mount on the backside of the cockpit fiberglass and transmit the sound through it. Look them up at Amazon, Radio Shack etc.. Chief
Here's another idea that doesn't involve cutting into the cockpit and adds drink holders too. I installed these in an old drop board that swaps out for an unmodified board when the speakers aren't needed.
