Radio/CD location

I am going to install an AM/FM/CD radio in my O'Day 25 and am debating a location. One thought is to use the existing elexctrical connections going to the light in the cabin over the starboard bunk. The other is to connect to black and red wires which were probably to a marine radio located on the port side just inside the crib boards. My electrical expertise is limited!
Any suggestions?

If you can help it, don't share the light's wires. The old VHF radio's wires should be up to the task, but you'll need to run an additional power wire direct to the battery for the radio memory anyway, so why not run all new wire?
Fwiw, I mounted mine through the aft bulkhead, starboard side, outboard of the galley sink.
