I fired up my RayMarine Radar scanned last weekend to test it. At first it worked fine. But after a while the scanner shut down. Each time I restarted it, it would shut down. I was motoring with all of the instruments on. I have a 35 amp alternator.
I'm thinking the shut down may have been due to low voltage in the battery I was using. Would this shutting down be a symtom of a battery too discharged or would be indicate a problem with the scanner?

My first inclination would be to suspect the battery. I have a c70 display and it will do the same thing when the battery voltage is low. Eliminating that as apossible cause, check all of your connections to make sure they are clean and tight. Hopefully, its a simple issue.

I think it is battery voltage. I have had that happen too with my R70 unit. Mine went off last weekend when I raised the anchor, so I am pretty sure it is battery voltage. I am trying to figure out what is going on too.
