As one coming from Canada and as such ignorant of radar detectors. Can anyone tell me if they work for detecting ships radar? I have heard that some people use them when crossing open water to detect local shipping activity.
I have read that the radar for ships uses a different frequency then police cars, so that a detector for police radar won't work for detecting ship's radar. Good question, I think it needs more research. Ken Palmer S/V Liberty
there is a unit made which detects ship's radar and gives you an indication of the direction it's coming from relative to your boat. (I forgot the name)
