I plan on installing a radar. With a trailerable boat H260, I would like to disconnect the radar at the base of the mast so that I can lower the mast. Does anyone know if there are cable connectors for doing this with a radar cable?

Yep

Firstly, there are some radars that don't like their cables cut, so check it out before you buy. That said, most people have a break in the line so the rig can come down. Typically, its with a block connector with screw downs to keep the wires in place. You can replace that connector with a nylon one that snaps together. These a common in automobiles, so you might have the best luck finding one from NAPA or even a big stereo store like Circuit City. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

I would recommend a mil-spec connector

Dave, I looked into exactly the same type of connector for my Raytheon Pathfinder radar. I would suggest that you purchase a mil-spec connector that is hermetically sealed when mated. The sea is an unforgiving place and electrical connections require the utmost in integrity. A high quality connector will survive the harshest enviroment of the sea while providing reliable and trouble-free connections. As I recall, a good connector will cost about $30-40. I don't have a list of sources with me now, but if you email me I will be happy to look-up and provide manufacturers and model numbers of connectors and sources for purchase. I am listed in the Hunter owners directory. Rich Stidger
