I'm considering buying a radar/charploter combo. Has anybody have had experience with the JRC 1800CP Color RADAR/CHARTPLOTTER. Ozana

ozana - I got a jrc 1800 this spring but can't comment on it as I have yet to install it. One thing about the JRC is that it does not do a radar/chart overlay like some of the Raymarine higher end combos. I looked around for some time - I think this will give me good bang for the buck. Also, I don't see where you are from - if you use Canadian charts as well - know that there is a dispute between the licensed supplier of digital Canadian Charts and some of the "big" chart plotter makers over royalties - make sure whatever you buy that you get the Canadian digital charts you need at the same time - if you need Canadian Charts.
