I have a question- i simply want to confirm that the Racor vacuum gauge connects to the output side of the Racor filter.

Yes, the Racor filter gauge installs on the supply side. It would benefit you if the gauge had a resettable pointer so you could monitor the highest reading (recorded at cruising or full RPMs) at any time....rather than ducking your head into the engine compartment while underway. Great tool as it takes the guess work out of filter replacements.

I meant to say output side rather than supply side.....the gauge monitors the vaccum required to get fuel from the filter to the engine.

Racor vacuum gauge

Hi Eian,

I don't know exactly what type Racor filter you have. But on my Racor 500FG, the vacuum gauge screws into the top of the filter, replacing the "T" handle that secures the top of the filter. No other plumbing is required if you have that model/style filter.

Cheers,
Paul
