Racor 120 Primary Filter

Ok folks. I've been thru the archives trying to determine what would be the best primary size filter for my R120. 30, 10 and 2 micron are available. I "assume" the secondary filter is less than 10 micron.

Am I thinking wrong to put 30 micron in primary, let secondary p/u small crud? I only burn 30-50 gallons a year.

I think that wisdom has said that nothing smaller than 10 micron in the primary. I would think that 30 or 10 should be fine.

fuel tank ----> 30µM (if system is historically fouled) - Racor ---> 10µM- Racor ---> 15-17µM @ the small, engine mounted, 'guard' filter - (your choice of mfg. but 'Wix' is probably the easiest available from an auto parts supply) ---> engine lift pump.
