Hi Guys & Gals, I think I have a brain cramp. On the bottom of the Racor 110 Fuel Filter (metal bowl)which is the drain plug for draining any trapped water? Is it the one OFF CENTER, or the one ON CENTER? I think it is the one OFF CENTER but I'm not sure. Dick Carey S/V Puffin 1990 Hunter 33.5

Off center.

The center fitting is for turning the entire bowl.

Lowest Point

Dick. The center one will remove the bowl to change the filter. The ither one is the drain which is probably located at (or creates) the lowest point of the bowl.

Annual Change Filter ?

I change the filter each year in the water seperaror, is this a prudent thing to do or should I just drain any water off ? I do change all other filters each year. Tony

Probably depends on how much motoring.

Tony: You know that this probably depends on how much motoring you do. If you look at the ratings on these filters, I'm sure you can get several years out of them. Then again it depends on the condition of your fuel. If you are draining the water off, are you getting much of anything? If not then you are probably not running an alge farm in your fuel tank either. The price of the filters is really not very expensive but if it is a matter of a couple of good six packs of your favorite beverage or a filter you can probably do this every other year. You are the one that needs to be the ultimate judge.
