The rating can vary according to your club politics. My 25 races at 240 non-spinaker. I've seen 230 to 255. Spinaker will be 7-10 pts less. After you are assigned a number by your racing authority, but present the best case you can for a higher number by researching other clubs, you can argue for a higher number after racing in your class and comparing the performance of your boat to others. If you are a novice, politic your racing authority for a high number which they can lower as you gain experience, this is only fair. Although purist with lower numbers won't like it.
