Here is a picture I took while I was racing Shamrock V out of Newport. We had just tacked up the channel and were near Brenton Reef. In the background is Brenton Point State Park. Wind was dead South at 20 to 25 Knots. I was in my O'Day 35. We made a few more tacks and then Shamrock V split to the left of the course looking to clear her dirty air since she was to leeward and hoping for a favorable shift.I headed to the right as Pt. Judith was my ultimmate destination. A few more tacks and determining that I was ahead I declared victory...on handicap I really won. What an awesome sight and one of the most memorable sails I ever had.Scale of the picture is the yellow dot near the bow is a person. Sorry for the resolution...poor quality digital camera.Zoom out it looks better but smaller.EnjoyDave
