Does anyone race their cape dory. I'm looking for my first boat, I like cape dory style but know they're slow. Does anyone club race their dory, if so, how do you place? thanks, Doug

Cape Dory racing

I used to race in the Wed nite and Sat PHRF races here on the Chesapeake. In the non-spinnaker class, there were a number of Alberg 30's and similar Cape Dory 30's. We were always surprised to see just how well these fine old, full keel boats did, even if we had to give them a lot of time.
