I need to -

- r/r the inoperative battery charger on my '82 H30 - looks straight forward any recomendations on model type or does / don'ts.

- r/r the engine stop cable to the Yanmar 2GM. Current one binds and will not slide eaily enough to stop the engine. Tips? Is r/r easy or hard?

Thanks

On my 28.5 and again on my 35.5 I installed the Xantrex Truecharge 20+. Found 'em online at pretty good discount. For price difference, I'd probably advise the 40+ as an option. Both are great, true "smart" chargers that monitor batteries, uses a 3 step or 2 step method depending on battery type, and seem to be very reliable. Comes with an excellent manual and install guide.

Engine stop cable trick I was shown was to paint the cable white, just past where the locking screw is at the engine stop end. Then loosen the locking screw and pull cable out from other end till you see the paint. Inspect for sharp wire "spurs" or breaks and lube heavy with white lithium grease. Cable should slide back down inside its sheath, if not, replace the whole thing!

I have has to replace the engine stop calble on my H34 a couple of times and it a straight swap, using a Yanmar replacement. Pull one out and snake a new one through. I would try lubing it first, maybe super lube or a spay lithium (automote) product. good luck michael
