"Voila" is launched

Today we launched her. It was the first launching for her in almost
10 years. The new Beta engine ran flawlessly. It is very quiet.
Conversation is easy. And very little vibration.

We got up at six am to finish odds and ends. I had to put the rudder
head back on the tiller. I am a little uncomfortable with the drain
plug. I had to use SS screws and 5200 sealant. I think I will redo it
with epoxy after we haul her in January.

The new forestay came up a bit short. I will have to lengthen with a
toggle or get another one. The stuffing box ran a bit hot. I will
have to back it off. I forgot to take the rubber guards off the rope
cutter. I will have to swim and remove it, with gloves. Lots of
little stuff to do....

Next I will building her sails. I will be using the new Maxx cloth
from Contender. This is a performance cruising cloth. It is a bit
pricey. It will allow the absolute minimum number of sails. I will
start with a 135% genoa on a Profurl furler, a full battened main
with 2 reefs and an asymetricate spinnaker.

I am going to attempt a dodger. Probably do an alright job but I am
not looking forward to it.

I hope to have this all done by October. We plan to start the
intercoastal then. I hope the hurricanes have settled down.
