Hi all I am a new member I have an offer on an Albin Vega 27 (which has been accepted). I live just outside Halifax Nova Scotia and I plan to sail the deep blue sea. My last boat was a Halman 20 which is now for sale. I am very keen to engage in conversation with respect to technical information and /or voyaging experiences in this class of sailboat. Sincerely John...

Looks like a great start for the new year! That manhole is unigue to me...also the main sheet rail location is...what an interesting way. Will you keep the boat name?

Hope to see all albin vega owners here: Vega Database

Yes it is all A'la "Jester challenge" The previous owner did a lot of really cool work. His electrical stuff was second to none the best I have ever seen. I am a Brit originating from Alba and fully understand the old name (which I love) The boat is in excellent condition and I have benefitted from the previous owners enthusiasm.

Congratulations on the new boat. She looks very clean.

Regarding the experiences that others have had with the Vega you might take a look at the bibliography that has been posted in the database section on this list, which lists some books you might enjoy. Another source is the "voyages" section at the American Vega Association website americanvega.org . There are also a number of blogs of Vega voyages on the web and the crew of Gemini Dreams have put together a list at their very nice website

Welcome aboard, neighbor! We live in down east Maine near Bangor and travel to Canada when we can. Car trips are less frequent now due to the poor economy, but if we are ever in the Halifax area we will look you up. We lived aboard and cruised on our Vega for several years and still own her. Keep her on a mooring off of Eggemoggin Reach.

Smooth Sailing,
Melanie & Paul Halvachs
