Looked at your pictures. That should work. Or have you already
done it?
Would be a little worried about base of mast jumping ahead and
gouging out your deck. What about lashing mast to that block and
tieing the block so it wont go up or forward very much? Then the
block would act as sort of a pivot point.
You should not have a problem of mast going to the side if you leave
on the upper and aft lower shrouds. Do what Hielke says and run a
line across middle of your 2 x 4 frame. The steps listed in the
Sprague.zip file should be appropriate.
