Hi All!

I just bought a 1985 Hunter 25.5 this week. I'm loving it and it's in great shape. The previous owner had it for less than a year, but has to move for a job. He wasn't able to figure this stuff out, either.

The first question deals with the v-berth. There is an extra cushion and a piece of wood there. The previous owner said that he was told it was some sort of extension on the v-berth. I couldn't figure it out and I think I'm just dense. I'm sure someone here can help!

Wood:

Extra Cushion (on a new hatch cover):

I first thought the wood was an old companionway cover, but it is not the right size. Any thoughts on how it might be a v-berth extender?

The next question deals with the table that comes down to make another berth. I just don't understand it. I am sure that I am doing it wrong. I just took it off the wall and kind of laid it down on top of where it was. I don't understand how it fits in better than this.

The cushions are kind of lump to sleep on:

Am I just doing it wrong? Or maybe it's a custom piece?

Thanks for any help!!!!

I had an 86 25.5 for a couple of years. Congrats on your new boat... I'm sure she'll treat you well.

The table in mine sat just like you have in the picture.

I think the salon pict in the owners mod section of Brian's may show a modified table. Brian made quite a few upgrades and mods to his 25.5... It is very impressive.

The cushion looks like an extra. Did the PO have new cushions made? I'd guess that the wood slat is or was part of the companionway door.

Thanks guys!

I thought it was part of the companionway door, but it's not the right size. I'm not really sure what it's for. I can have fun trying to find a use for it and the extra cushion!
