I just recently purchased a Vega, and am starting to work through what needs
done to re-power her. The previous owner removed the original engine and
covered up the old shaft log (both ends) with an as yet unknown amount of
bondo, glass, and epoxy. Before I go hog wild grinding off this mess, I
would like to have some idea of what should be there in terms of bearings
and seal arrangements. Does anyone have a good schematic or set of specs
for what belongs there? Or even a good suggestion about where to go for the
info?
