My question comes in two parts, will the 1983 Catalina 30 start with the transmission in gear and if not do you hear a relay click. I am starting to have a problem where my engine will not start and when I turn the key all I hear is what sounds like a relay click. The transmission is in neutral, no lights dim and if I keep trying it will actually start and the starter sounds strong like the batteries are fully charged. I am not getting a wind up like a bad solenoid, just a click. Any ideas?
