Can K.O. be used on a regular basis or is it primarily for an occasional "shock" treatment? The salesmen at my local WM were not sure. I have a new manual flush head.

Waste tanks don't need to be "shocked"

K.O. should be used regularly according to directions on the bottle (which apparently neither you nor the WM salesperson read). It should not be combined with any other tank treatment. For Pete's sake don't buy it at WM!! Their price for a 22-oz bottle is a whopping $17.95...Raritan's LIST price is only $11.70.

Actually I did read it. :O

The directions actually speak more about what not to do and of the precautions for using it, that it almost leads one to believe that it could be a little more potent than the usual smelly green stuff. It's also not that easy to find (at least not around the NYC area.) I agree I probably paid more and I appreciate the tip. Around here I could drive around all day looking for things to save a few bucks and wind up burning it up in gas!!

K.O. is not a chemical...

It's live aerobic bacteria product that works with oxygen and the naturally occurring bacteria in waste to prevent odor...which is why it cannot be combined with chemical products that kill bacteria, 'cuz those chemicals will also kill the bacteria in K.O. For a more detailed explanation of how oxygen and beneficial bacteria prevent odors, check out the link below. When you need more, save your gas and your money...order it online or by phone (800-352-5630) directly from Raritan...it ships from their plant in NJ, so you'll have it the next day.

Thanks Peg

Thanks for the explanation. A lot of us are dummies about most of this stuff and we really appreciate you taking time to walk us through some of this.
