I have a Balmar 60 series and the mc-614 regulator installed. For the batteries have three separate switches, neg, house positive and reserve positive.
Know, from your posts, that the volt sense needs to be connected to the battery being charged. Should I connect the volt sense at the bat switch where it will see which ever battery is on line or should I connect to the house bat terminal and only charge the reserve with both switches on?
Obviously, most of the time it will be the house bank that needs charge. Seems a more accurate reading at the bat, but would the reserve be properly charged when in both?
If at switch, know that 2nd bat needs to be brought on line before removing the 1st.

Thanks,
Bob

If you want the best performance out of the system the alternator B+ / output and the v-sense will get direct wired to the HOUSE bank + terminal. A negative cable same size as alt B+ will also go direct to the house bank.

The regulator negative (black wire) will also get direct wired to the HOUSE bank neg terminal as this is the other half of the v-sense circuit and in order to sense properly it needs to see the neg batt terminal, not the back of the alt or some random neg bus....

Alt B+ should have a fuse within 7" of HOUSE bank + terminal and that wire should ideally have a service disconnect switch so the alt can be isolated when working on the engine..

If you want to make charging the reserve seamless add an ACR or an Echo or Duo Charger.

If you do not direct wire the alt to the house bank the closest you can wire v-sense is the charge directing switch otherwise you will FRY one bank when you switch to the other..........
