question about spreaders on cat30

on my recent trip to catalina in my 1980 catalina 30, my starboard side spreader, which is made out of wood, snapped in half. i just need information on the best way to replace them. what kind? and where should i get them. thank you, noah munnerlyn nmunnerl@csulb.edu

Catalina sells them. Call parts. Or, get a copy of Mainsheet, the Catalina assn. newsletter. Vendors sell aluminum replacements. You can find the assn on the web. Or have someone make new ones.

I understand that the catalina ones require that you change the hardware on the mast to make them fit. Apparently JSI makes ones that will fit the existing hardware so that they install quickly. They quoted me 295.00 for a pair of them. They sound fairly expensive to me so I have not done it yet. They also wanted the old ones so that they can compare them and make sure they ship the correct one. customer.service@jsisail.com
