Recently had a bit of work done, am satisfied with most of what I am paying for. Question is, should the old pendant have been changed with the installation of the new center board? It was the original from the old centerboard. The boat is now back in the water at the marina where I am having it serviced. Thanks, bill

I would say it depends

You didn't mention if the pendant was rope or wire. If wire and still in good shape I wouldn't see a problem with it, rope OTOH should be replaceid. Depending on the boat this may be possible still. Good luck, Jim

On the 19 on up to the 260 water ballast it is like a $15 to $20 piece of line. Damn stupid of them not to replace it if the centerboard is already out. What kind of boat is it?

pendant

This is a 25'Oday. The new centerboard had to be ground down and then painted before it would fit. Unfortunatly, the boat was back in the water at the service marina before we had a chance inspect it. My wife questioned me why the original rope pendant(old) wasn't replaced. It didn't seem make sense to us either. Now she questions what was actually done. We think it's fair to have them haul it back out and replace the pendant it at cost. Thanks, bill
