Our marina is a magnet for Purple martin birds. They enjoy sitting on spreaders, mastehead nav sensors and other perch's and "bombing" sailboat decks with their dropings.. So, has anyone experienced this problem with these or other birds? Perhaps you have some methods or solutions for keeping these pests off the boat. It is more enjoyable to go sailing than spending time cleaning off the decks. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Understanding

I understand your frustration. There is hope. Purple Martins are a native song bird of North America. They migrate to Brazil at the end of July / first of August. Those little birds fly non-stop across the Gulf of Mexico to Brazil and live in trees during our winter. They return in February to take up residence in housing put up by man. Here, they breed, raise young, and prepare for their return trip to Brazil. If you see them now, be patient, as they are heading south.

Thanks

Very good. Thanks for the reply and information. I will look for the day that they continue their trek to Brazil.
