Alan, concerning your message of April 1.
I am selling my Vega and its trailer. I have a sale for the boat but now the trailer is for sale separately.
This trailer was made for me in a little farm machinery shope, and they built it very strong, heavy iron channel etc. It has two axles, 15 inch wheels, and electric brakes. It is still in good shape except maybe new tires would be a good idea.
We made three trips with it between Ontario and British Columbia, 3,500 km or more each way, and over the Rockies.
Actually, the old Ford van that we used is for sale too. It is old but seems to be functional.
We handled the towing by rigging the van with load levellers. The trailer brakes worked when you stepped on the van brakes. There was also a separate lever for the trailer brakes which was handy -- if the trailer started to sway you could stop that with the brake lever.
Someone mentioned backing up a long driveway. Our van has a bumper hitch on the front which is good enough for facing the trailer to get it into a driveway, or in our case into a high carport.
Alan, perhaps you are too distant to be interested, we are in the southwest corner of British Columbia.
If anyone else is interested in purchase, let me know. Questions might work best by phone: 250.537.0760
I would post a picture or two but do not know how to do that.
Yours, John
