I have been looking at a Albin Vega 27 ft.
I know about the Bulkhead under the mast and the weak rudder when
motoring in reverse. Is there anything else I need to know?
This is a 1971 version with the original motor and prop arrangement.
It has been well maintained and certainly sounds good when running. I
am not afraid of motor repairs and can get parts machined etc. Is it
a great problem to repair the variable pitch prop?
How can I test to see if the rudder is sound? I will take it for a
sail to see if there is any spongyness at all.
I do glass work professionally so that too is not problem. Both the
deck and hull are very sound.
And how about a price... it is offered at $14,000 canadian. I felt it
was a good price for this boat in good original order with 9 sails.
comments please.
