Purchase of 336/Survey

We have put a deposit on a 1995 336. The sale is of course dependent on a survey in the spring. Can anyone recommend a surveyor in the New England area? Or a resource for finding one? I am on Lake Champlain in northern Vermont. This is the first time we have had a boat surveyed. Any tips about the process? Concerns for this model? I have reviewed the information posted by owners in the 'Boat Info' section of this site and it was useful.

One of the previous owners of the boat, 'Pilgrim,' posted on this site in the past. What a neat way to find information about a boat you are going to purchase.

Many of the surveyors know one another and have an idea of who's competent in a particular area. Jack Hornor here in Annapolis has been around a long time and may be able to recommend someone up your way. http://www.msdco.com/

I bought a H23 about a year ago, sight unseen, and found my very, very good marine surveyor by asking for names at the boatyard where I planned to rent a slip and have repairs done. I am very happy that I purchased the survey and would not buy a boat of any size without one.
