Thanks for the response.If the crack is only in the gel coat, that is not un-normal. You would have to inspect more closely.
Regarding price... on an older boat (or any sailboat for that matter), the real expense comes when you need to replace the sails, the trailer and the O.B. So look hard at those items as well.

If you search on terms such as Hunter ACP Repair or Hunter Plastic Repair you should come up with lots of previous threads that will let you know what you are in for. IMHO the cracks are not uncommon but are not difficult to repair. There is one forum member that was a Hunter dealer for many years, who may just be of great assistance.
