Those of us in PA religiously follow Phil and place our utmost faith in his predictions which are extremely accurate and science based. His accuracy is 40%, which is almost as good as flipping a coin!
We have our own animals here that do predictions. Merv, the fake puppet one, seems to do more accurate forecasting than the recently dead real one.
On a good note, according to the link below, only the Ontario rodent disagrees with Phil, Merv, and even Lucy the Lobster.

Well our own @Phil Herring when he pokes he's head out from under the covers will awaken to a bright sunny morning.
6 more weeks of winter he will declare.... Bah Hum bug.

That's a misinterpretation issue. Punxsutawney Phil is accurate %60 of the time. His interpreters are the ones who, not only get what he's saying wrong, but they are apparently incapable of learning from their mistakes. So, who's smarter, a human or a woodchuck?
